Yo!
What’s going on everyone? It’s me, your friendly neighbourhood sound designer. It’s been a while since we’ve spoken and a lot has happened since the new year. We’ve recently just finished recording all of the dialogue and everyone is sounding mint! The sounds gathered for the game are all nearly implemented and we are in the final stages of production here in the sound team. Currently, we’re mixing dialogue, mastering the soundtrack and putting the finishing touches on the production side. During our VO (voice-over) sessions, Serena and I have been working extremely close with Rachel, our narrative lead, to help direct our voice actors so they can effectively deliver the lines with the attitude and emotion we’re looking for. In terms of music, Khalid and I have been chipping away at multiple genres to help express diversity in the game’s soundtrack. Primarily, we have smooth jazz to accompany the majority of the game’s situations, and on the radio, we have Wyte Roze which is classic rock; Bennett from our art department was nice enough to provide lead guitars on the song. We also have an old school metal track by a band called Four Shadows who are essentially the pioneers for the genre in-universe. I’m super excited for everyone to hear everything we’ve worked on.
I definitely want to thank everyone who’s been a part of the process along the way; Diane and Rachel from the Narrative team have been extremely helpful with all of the dialogue implementation, as well as our selects – which are just taking the best takes and cutting them so they are single lines. It’s been a huge time saver when processing hundreds of lines at a time. Bennett from the Art team has also been an important asset when composing the songs for Wyte Roze, it’s been a real treat working with someone who breathes music to help write guitar parts for our fictional band. Overall, I’m super proud of everyone and I’m super confident in what we’ve been able to produce.
Everyone here at SFM is super excited to show everyone what we’ve done, open playtests are coming up soon so keep an eye out on our socials for more information!
Thanks for checking out our work, we hope to see you soon,
Last but not least; be good people.
